The Resource Centre for the Blind has influenced and empowered me by teaching me how to use the computer white cane and also moving around in the dark without light. I also learned vocational skills like tie and dye, beadwork, liquid soap, nylon rope used in designing palm slippers, coconut oil, and so on. I was also taught how to use my phone well with TalkBack.
I remember when I was in secondary school, I was wondering how I would go to university because of my sight. I was scared if it would affect me. My mom was always there to motivate me. When I joined RCB and learned to use the computer and other things, I had hope again. When I finished from RCB, the director, Mrs. Omotola Temitayo Ayinla, gave me a scholarship to further my education in the university of my choice. It was my desire to go to Redeemer’s University, and she made my desire a reality.
The day I went to Redeemer’s University, I had challenges, but I overcame them. Mr. Daniel is also one of the people that counseled me, and also my mom. God would bless you abundantly. Today, I’m happy I went to the Resource Centre for the Blind because it transformed my life and made me a better person today. I enjoyed myself in Resource Centre for the Blind, and I also learned to believe in myself and not look down on myself.
